Attorney's Office

Staff

The Town Attorney's Office consists of the Town Attorney, two Assistant Town Attorneys and a Paralegal. All are highly trained, skilled professionals with many years of experience in their respective legal protocols.

Duties

The Town Attorney's Office manages files concerning claims, appeals from administrative agencies and renders numerous opinions each year, in its capacity as advisors to the various departments.

Town Charter

As set forth in the Town Charter, “the Town Attorney is the legal advisor of the mayor and all other departments, officers, boards, commissioners, or agencies of the Town in all matters affecting the interests of the Town…”

In addition to the role of advisor, “he shall appear and protect the rights of the Town in all actions, suits or proceedings brought by or against (the Town)…”
