    Stop by the Hamden Mini Social-Distance Farmers Market every Thursday from 4:00-7:00pm in front of Red Barn at Miller Library (2901 Dixwell Ave. Hamden 06518). Mini Markets are meant solely to provide our community with the opportunity to buy fresh, local produce and will expand throughout August as Covid restrictions change. Markets feature local favorite vendors like Spuds Your Way potato truck, Disorbo's Bakery truck, Amelia's Farm, JC Farm, Bussa Orchards, Drummerboy Coffee and more.   2. Black Film Mini-Series and Discussion: Brown Sugar

    Best Video Film and Cultural Center, Ignite the Light, and Spring Glen Church in collaboration with the Hamden Dept. of Arts and Culture are excited to host the Hamden Black Film Mini-Series and Discussion event. The series consists of three, black-centered movies with universal themes of love, heroes, loss, immigration and more followed by community discussion with keynote speakers relating each movie to the issues, experiences, joys, struggles and achievements of the black community in Hamden. Attendees are invited to come for the movies and stay for discussion if interested, otherwise, come out and enjoy films together in the company of community. All movies will be presented outdoors with social distancing on the lawn. All movies start promptly at 7:30pm with discussion to follow directly after. This event is outdoors, bring a blanket and chairs.

  1. Hamden Restaurant Week 2020

    September 21, 2020 - September 26, 2020

    Join us in celebrating Hamden’s 10th Restaurant Week presented by Bankwell set for the week of September 21st – September 26th. Restaurants all over Hamden will be featuring either a buy one get one option or three-course prix fixe menu consisting of an appetizer, entrée and dessert. Prix Fixe menus will be priced at range for LUNCH between $9-$15 and for DINNER ranging between $20-$35. The Chamber is excited to partner with Hamden Department of Arts and Culture who will be featuring live music and entertainment from local Hamden musicians at many of our participating restaurants.   4. Electrify Your Drive! A Free EV Car Show and Information Session

    September 26, 2020, 1:00 PM @ Miller Library

    Join us for the 3rd annual Hamden National Drive Electric Week (NDEW) event at the Miller Public Library, 2901 Dixwell Avenue, Hamden, on Saturday, 26 September 2020, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. This outdoor event (with masks and social distancing) will include experienced electric vehicle (EV) owners showing their cars and sharing how they drive and charge their EVs. Available to all attendees will be handouts about the newest EV models and charging systems as well as up-to-date information about state rebates and federal tax credits. The 2020 Hamden NDEW event is sponsored by the Town’s Energy Use and Climate Change Commission and is co-sponsored by the Connecticut Chapter of the Sierra Club. National Drive Electric Week (26 September to 4 October, 2020) events occur nationwide to raise awareness of the benefits of driving all-electric or plug-in hybrid vehicles.   1. Hamden Drive-In Movie Series: Penguins of Madagascar

    September 24, 2020, 7:00 PM @ Town Center Park - 2761 Dixwell Ave.

    The Drive-In Movie Series will take place Thursdays, September 17th through October 8th on the 40ft “Big Screen” and is geared towards families and children of all ages. Limited concession vendors will be on-site, though families are encouraged to bring a meal to share in their vehicles. At this time, no picnic style seating is available at the venue – only vehicles will have access to movie sound. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to secure a parking spot. Please be sure to follow directions and volunteers as they assist with your parking. As Town Center Park is relatively flat, parking rows will be staggered to provide the best-possible viewing angles. Attendees should enter through the Hamden Middle School and continue into Town Center Park via the access road.
