Panera Bread Opens New Location in Hamden, Connecticut
Panera Bread, the company recognized for bringing quality, freshly baked artisan bread and all-natural chicken to the masses, opened a new bakery-cafe on Dixwell Avenue in Hamden on November 30. Mayor Craig Henrici and the Hamden Chamber of Commerce helped to celebrate the grand opening.

The new Hamden Panera Bread bakery-cafe will offer 16 varieties of freshly baked artisan bread each day for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Panera’s specialty breads serve as the foundation for the entire bakery-cafe menu—which includes made-to-order gourmet sandwiches, fresh, hand tossed salads and delicious, unique soups.
In addition, Panera Bread offers a variety of bagels, soufflés, pastries and an array of hot and cold beverages. As part of a commitment to providing its customers with the finest, best-tasting ingredients, the company recently introduced all-natural, antibiotic-free chicken to several menu items at bakery-cafes nationwide.
Defined by special features like real china, overstuffed chairs and cozy conversation areas, Panera Bread bakery-cafes have set the standard in the popular and growing “fast casual” market segment. As part of the company’s move to elevate industry standards for customer service, Panera also offers complimentary Wi-Fi access in many of its nearly 800 bakery-cafes across the country. As with the three other corporate owned bakery-cafes in the area, the Hamden location will provide free wireless internet access for customers.
