Hamden has a strong Economic and Community Development Department that values the importance of workforce development. In addition, a comprehensive business Incentive Program and an active Chamber of Commerce both combine to make Hamden a great place to do business.
The Economic Development Commission has developed a long-range Economic Development Plan which promotes programs such as tax incentives, loan programs, a technical assistance program for small businesses, and developing initiatives such as a marketing program for the town and improvements in the Hamden Business Park.
