The following is a listing of the departments of Hamden's Municipal Government. Each department has an individual Department Head, responsible for the oversight of their department. Elderly Services
The Elderly Services Department functions as the central resource center for information on programs, activities and services for elderly residents 60 years of age and older.

Personnel / Civil Service
The Human Resources/Civil Service Department is responsible for the recruitment and testing for all civil service positions included in the Classified Service for both the Town and the Hamden Board of Education.

The Tax Office is the major source of revenue for the Town of Hamden, collecting more than $184 million dollars in taxes for the 2018 to 2019 fiscal year.
