The following is a listing of the departments of Hamden's Municipal Government from A-L. Each department has an individual Department Head, responsible for the oversight of their department. Community Development
The mission of the Office of Housing and Neighborhood Development is to provide critical financial, informational, and support resources to low and moderate income Hamden residents seeking to improve their access to homeownership opportunities.

The Department of Community Services enhances the quality of life of all Hamden residents by providing educational, recreational, and social services through coordinated or direct services.

Hamden has a strong Economic and Community Development Department that values the importance of workforce development, including job training grant incentives for business owners.

The Elderly Services Department functions as the central resource center for information on programs, activities and services for elderly residents 60 years of age and older.
