School Supplies Closet

This initiative was created to assist Hamden families who have displayed financial need and are having difficulty in providing their children with the necessary items needed for school.

  • Available year-round
  • Free for Hamden youth in need (Preschool to College)

School Supplies Closet Hours: Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at our main Hamden Youth Services office located at 11 Pine Street, Hamden.

Requirements

  • Proof of residency is required. Please bring a valid photo ID.
  • You will be asked to fill out a one page registration form. Forms are also available at the office.

Interested in Contributing?

Throughout the year, residents, schools and/or organizations are welcome to assist the "Supplies for School" project with donations.

All items may be dropped off at the main office of Hamden Youth Services Bureau at:
11 Pine Street
Hamden, CT 06514

You may drop off between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

We accept donations of any of the following new items: 

  • Backpacks
  • Calculators
  • Crayons and Scissors
  • Glue
  • Magic Markers
  • Notebooks
  • Pencil Sharpeners
  • Pencils
  • Pens
  • Pocket Folders
  • Rulers
  • Tape
  • Three Ring Binders
  • Etc.
