7/15/2021:  We have posted all of the public comments in the Files and Reports section that have been received.  We are verifying the public outreach state rules to schedule the final decision meeting.  We are progressing with the project.

7/6/2021:  The recording of the below referenced meeting as well as public comments received to date have been posted in the Files and Reports menu to the right of the page.  

7/12/2021: Two documents have been added with public comment received through 7/12/2021 before working hours.  Draft project information meeting minutes have been posted for review.  Some comments have been received and incorporated from designer and CTDOT consultant.

We anticipate an additional meeting after the 14th to address comments.  Public comment will also be accepted at that time.

A virtual Public Input session has been scheduled for June 30, 2021 at 6:30 p.m.  The meeting will be to discuss the various layout options for sidewalks along the four streets.  An updated map with options can be found under the Files menu to the right.

In preparation for the meeting, preliminary design plans have been added to the files area to the right.  The first page is blank. The others are 24"x36" plans (34 pages = 15.6M).  

The Town of Hamden is planning on installing new sidewalks to connect areas where there are currently no sidewalks. This project seeks to develop a fully walkable sidewalk corridor in the Town of Hamden. The proposed project will bridge currently unconnected sidewalk routes located within a number of residential neighborhoods and commercial areas. Construction goals include the extension and connection of existing sidewalk routes and the installation of curb ramps and crosswalks. There will also be some pavement markings and traffic light changes.

The Town has received a grant for sidewalk installations along portions of Augur Street, Benham Street, Davis Street, and Treadwell Avenue. Our consultant’s survey crews have located the existing conditions before starting design.

We are looking for your opinion. What do you want to see when it comes to design?

The Town of Hamden will conduct additional public outreach of local residents for input. Your opinion will be used by the Town and GM2 to create the location of the new sidewalks. The Town will be conducting an additional public input session when the design reaches preliminary design (30% completion). We anticipate the next public input session sometime in the end of June  2021.
