Project Description

This project is a joint project between the Town of Hamden, City of New Haven, and CT DOT. The Town of Hamden is proposing to install raised crosswalks at five (5) locations in response to requests from residents to improve pedestrian and cyclist safety along the Farmington Canal Trail. The project area includes the following streets that intersect the canal trail: Goodrich Street, Alling Street, Dudley Street, Morse Street and Hamden Park Drive.

The project area in New Haven includes the following streets that intersect the trail: Munson Street, Division Street, Thompson Street, Shelton Avenue, Ivy Street, Brewster Street, and Bassett Street. Details on work planned in the City of New Haven can be found with the City of New Haven Engineering Department, https://www.newhavenct.gov/government/departments-divisions/engineering.

This project is made possible by funding from State of CT DOT (project# 61-154). This project is funded through the Transportation Alternatives Program.
