Garden of Hope and Reflection Dedication
Hamden – On Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at 5 PM, the Paint Hamden Pink Committee will dedicate the Garden of Hope and Reflection at Hamden Town Center Park (near the red barn). Parking is available in the Miller Library parking lot. Rain date for the event will be Monday, October 3, 2022.
Please see the below information provided by the Paint Hamden Pink Committee:
“The garden will be a special place for those in need of peace and reflection – a place to remember those who have passed due to breast cancer and to honor those who have survived breast cancer. A granite bench has been donated and will be unveiled at the dedication. Paint Hamden Pink is pleased that the administrative teams of Mayor Lauren Garrett and former Mayor Curt Leng worked together to make this garden a reality.
Paint Hamden Pink began five years ago and is made up of volunteers who came together to provide hope, awareness and support to those in the Hamden community whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Due to the support of more than 140 Hamden businesses, places of worship, schools, the Hamden Fire and Police Departments, and the Hamden Regional Chamber of Commerce, Paint Hamden Pink has raised over $40,000 for Making Strides against Breast Cancer. The mission of Paint Hamden Pink is to build breast cancer awareness throughout the Hamden community and to promote early detection as the key to saving lives.”
