Hamden – The Hamden Arts Commission in collaboration with Arts for Learning CT and Hamden’s Department of Arts, Culture, Recreation and Wellness is proud to present master theater artist and filmmaker, Leland Faulkner, for the first of six performances in their Saturday Family Entertainment Series. Leland Faulkner will share Walker Between Worlds, A Journey into the World of Native American Stories.
Leland Faulkner is a tribal member of the Bad River Band of Chippewa but has lived and traveled all over the world. He was born in Afghanistan, lived in Iran, and Tanzania and currently resides in Maine, USA. Leland Faulkner has toured to Japan, Russia, and China. He holds a degree in Motion Picture Studies, and is a master mime artist, actor, magician, film maker and storyteller. Leland Faulkner has a wide range of experiences and uses his understanding of world culture to bring hearts closer together. Walker Between Worlds is a journey into the world of Native American Stories through oral history, natural observations, and culture of the First Americans.
This performance will introduce the audience to the culture of Native Americans and their history, as well as introduce the point of view that previous generations had about the world. Audience members will link the past to the present and discover how observation of the natural world can bring wisdom and insight into their lives.
All performances in this Saturday Family Entertainment Series are from 1PM to 2PM and will take place at Thornton Wilder Hall in the Miller Cultural Complex, 2901 Dixwell Ave where there is ample free parking. Tickets will be available at the door only, and are $3 for adults and $2 for children, cash only.
